Morbid Kiat

Bloody weird wound huh (pun fully intended here) ... this is my knee cap after it took a beating from the impact as a result from me attempting an e-brake on a rainy day as part of the training programme... i guess i screwed up there... jammed da bloody brakes too hard... it didn't helped that my bike was f***ed up. Just before i begin the run up, the engine died on me... cos there's not enough fuel left in the tank to power the bike... i suppose they didnt top up the dot 3 fuel on the brakes as well... hahaha... dammnit... but luckily they passed me at the end of the day, which i don't think they did it out of sympathy... it was well worth the pain (what am i talking here? am i sick or what??!) Looking back... it was quite scary actually... the moment of impact landing on the tarmac and kerb which is reinforced thank goodness by rubber tires... Wham! right under the instructor's nose... no serious shit though... escaped with a few cuts, slight limp in my right leg, the 2 brake light- like wounds and a ripped pair of giordano jeans... hurhurhur...

And yeah just caught american idol 3 on tv just now... hell it was freaking funny... provided me tonnes of laughter when i was on the way home from tuition and then in the comfort of my living room... the audition part is always the most hilarious of all... who would ever forget the likes of edgar nova singing enrique iglesias' 'can't escape my love'? hahaha.... classic!!! This season we have william hung shakin' his bons bons a la ricky martin!!! fcuk it was hella funny... with his very own slick(y) ricky moves... hahaha... which reminds me, he looks so much like the chinese guy at 'sheely wok' in southpark!!! hahaha... you can't really blame trey parker and matt stone if every chinese in the US of A talks like william hung does... muahahaha... wicked!

Its already sunday... 4th day of the chinese lunar new year... sheesh it seems to pass by rather quickly this year... Stayed at home fixing up my computer after it was attacked by the blasterworm virus... damn i must say it was freaking irritating with the virus auto rebooting your computer as and when without warning... it was like you're swimming and then some asshole suddenly pulled out the tap from beneath you and drained out all the water... what the f*** ... hahaha... you know what i'm saying... Looking back on the last few days, it was the same old stuff being replayed over and over again... eat, sleep, play, gamble, cheat my little cousins' money and facing the never ending barrage of questions from relatives... not that it gets on my nerves... i know they meant well but somehow i get the feeling they are still treating me as the lil' ah kiat from when i was still a kid... hahaha...
Haiii... as i look out my window, the rain is still pouring since this afternoon... i've already cancelled tomorrow's soccer session due to poor response... so that leaves me pretty much nothing to do tomorrow... and school will reopen again on monday... its the second start of another new semester... of cos the first didn't really start in my case... hahaha... time to shift up into a higher gear... and let's not hope i'll fall into the sea as what mahatir would say... heh... sly old fox...

It was wynnie's birthday yesterday... shiyun, ah hui, bob, doong and me were treated to dinner at marche's suntec city... hung around there for a while before going over to esplanade to sit down and relac... hmm why does it seems that if one happens to be around the area doing nothing, the esplanade has got to be THE place to go to? Is the number of interesting places to go to in singapore so jialat that we always have to go the same place and do the same things over and over again? hahaha... i'm not complaining though, cos' ultimately its WHO you are with that matters... right?

After a few photos we headed down to embargo just a stone's throw away from where we were... had french sauvignon (err... correct spelling right?), a small slice of fat laden chocolate cake complete with a lighted candle and sang a rather lacklustre half f***ed birthday song which was hastily abandonded after the group beside us (also celebrating someone's birthday) had a much bigger cake... "soo seh" leh... hahahaha... the place's nice though... good music... cable tv and to top it off, great ambience but huh... the place too dark... even if penelope cruz were to sit beside me, i wouldnt know... hehe...

"Happy birthday!!! make a fwish... make a fwish.... hahahaha..."

On another note... i finally passed my figure 8 / crank course... after 4 seemingly futile attempts to get through what was possibly the hardest stage of all... i finally did it this morning... hahahaha.... 4 more lessons to go... should be relatively easy cos' the remaining lessons are basically a revision of what i've done so far... damn i can't wait to get my license... hahaha...

Its been almost a week and half since school started... and as usual the holiday mood still lingers quite heavily in me and a host of other people i know... yes yes... more assignments and late night mugging again... screw it... its down right at the bottom of my list of "to-dos"... not until after the dreaded chinese new year that is... hahaha... this is SOOO me... always seem to take ages to settle down and get things moving... but only when it comes to studying lah... but things are looking up certainly. I've become more interested in my studies recently... and that is a good thing i suppose... Won't want to live through the nightmares of my jc years again most definetely...

The weekend was pretty exhausting for me... played soccer on sunday morning and then went over to sunset bay with my some of my budds and their girlfriends... it was the first time an outing of such magnitude was planned... and i had the chance to meet what might be the prospective 'da saos' of my good friends... hahaha... good fun though, of sun(no thanks to bob... haha) sand and sea... bloody touch rugby was freakin' tiring though i would have loved to play full contact rugby and bring the guys down to chinatown... haha... cadet foo also gave me an goodbye gift on my shin with a donkey kick as he prepared to book in... muahaha... asshole... it hurts real bad man...

Was supposed to go Koh Phangan in Thailand... but ended up in Bintan, Indonesia instead... But it was a nice getaway nonetheless... i think it was the first time a bunch of us (me, doong, bob, malau and his gf huili) went on a trip together... and for once, malau actually took the initiative to plan a holiday for us... initially i feared for the worst... knowing him... screw ups here and there... stranded on Bintan(i dun really mind)... things like that... but Captain Simian proved that he is up to the task... i'm reasonably impressed... he has definetely grown up... hahaha... Anyway back to Bintan, we've got ourselves a chalet by the beachfront, which really kicks ass... it was quite a sight, and with the cool sea breeze blowing towards us constantly, we suddenly felt liberated from the hustle and bustle of city life... and yeah there's also a hammock right in front of our chalet... picture purrrfect i say...

The clear waters of the beach front at our mayang sari resort... well.... not exactly pristine clear but good enough for us... plus the wave is neither too strong nor too weak... just right for us beachboys wannabes to try body surfing for the first time in our lives... the feeling you get riding on a wave... i can't find the words to describe... it was sheer exhilaration...

We would have loved to go snorkelling but there were no trips being planned for at the resort as it was the monsoon season... but funnily enough... it never even rained for the 3 days we were there... we still engaged in other activities like beach volleyball (which i sucked at) and exploring the town of tanjung pinang in bintan... scary thing really... not-very-friendly glares from some of the locals and menacing suspicious characters lurk the streets at every corner... it never felt worse... must really appreciate the security and peace of mind we enjoy back home in singapore...

Back on the beaches in front of our chalet, we did spoofs of boybands and even shot video clips with our digicams... hell it was funny... all sorts of funny patterns come out fast and furious while fingers clicked away happily... but this photo which we took was the best of the lot...

Presenting singapore's answer to Westlife... EASTLIFE!!! hahaha... from left: Bob, Peter, James and Ivan.
Can someone please tell us what the hell were we thinking??!

I actually took quite a lot of pictures... about 70 in all... will be uploading them for anyone who is interested in viewing them... details to be given in future postings once i've finished collecting all the pictures...

The trip was smashing but for an incident which happened that marred our day... got stopped at singapore side customs because we're not allowed to bring in any cigarettes and have to end up paying a hefty fine... lesson learnt... but we're already looking forward to the next time where we all can get out for a holiday together...

The start of 2004... what will the new year hold in store for me? Some murky part of my life have at least been cleared... Now i know where i should be heading next... No point clinging on, when you've got to move on, you have to move on. Thinking ahead, i don't really wish for much actually... just as long as my parents are in good health always and the friendship i've forged over the years with an awesome group of buddies stay as strong as ever... oh wait... there's another thing, i really wish for cupid's arrow to finally hit me... or was it due to the fact that my fats are too thick to penetrate? hahaha... the special someone who could give me a renewed purpose in life is what i seek this year... let's hope this will be THE year and not a year which fleets past me in the blink of an eye...

New year's eve party was spent at zouk with bob, doong and malau along with their respective girlfriends, charmaine and huili...and also wynnie and her friend susan (did i get that right? hehe...) To think that it was doong the family man who first mooted the idea of clubbing at zouk... hahaha... But the day turned out better than expected, barring the overwhelming crowd, there were as usual plenty of eye candy for everyone... we all had plenty of fun dancing to nice music from the guest DJ and downing drink after drinks... ahh yes... first time a few of us tasted the more potent drinks... flaming lambos and basketball... bloody killer i tell u... almost knocked me out, but it can't be said for doong, malau and bob... who began trash talking the moment we got out of zouk. As we head towards a place where we could get some food and sit down, the weak ones puked right out of their nostrils and other equally wussy ones talked nonsensically and did stupid but hilarious things... and as expected, i'm the only guy left standing... bunch of weaklings... hahaha... I wouldnt mind doing this all over again with the same bunch of people... cos that day i really enjoyed myself (even though i dun really like clubbing) what the f***... what am i saying? Must be the alcohol...
