Foodie hunt!

Me and my baby have made it a hobby of ours to try to find "highly recommended" places for makan, which largely explains why I've been putting on much weight recently (about 4 kgs extra ever since...).

That particular saturday morning took us to this place in Geylang lor 41. It looks like any ordinary coffee shop, serving coffee & toast that tastes average at best. And there's only 1 shop that opens, selling fishball noodles that tastes sama sama also. Sucky. Somehow, having sucky food makes us particularly grouchy afterwards, and the need to feel compensated by having more food later on. GAH! Which leads us next to Goodwood park hotel for a hi-tea buffet spread... -_-" I admit it was seriously good stuff: almost anything you could've imagined. I've been there once before when Pris (my elder sister) treated us, and I've been wanting to try the food again. Only this time, I can afford to pay for myself and I'm going with my food-lovin' gf.

Watch your pockets though peeps, if you ever want to try this place out. It costs a whoppin' S$40+++/pax but its worth the treat once in a while. Needless to say, we stuffed ourselves so full we had to skip dinner. =D

Taken along the alleys of Geylang: Cats & dogs seems to co-exist peacefully side by side.

I love my Cybershot SE K810i very much!!!!

Interesting India

Taken during the sweltering heatwave in Delhi. 43 friggin' degrees celsius!!! Limpeh once get inside the car is ask driver to full blast the aircon! You repeat this process ten of times in one day, and what you get is... BLOOD IN YOUR MUCUS WHEN YOU SNEEZE!!! OMFG! *Faints*

The India gate - A monument to the war dead. It's located close to where the different government ministries are in New Delhi.

Fancy a dip, anyone? Hehehe...

Very common sight in India when the traffic stops. So lock yer doors, for your own safety. It never pays to be too kind to beggars.
Somehow, I'm fixated to my boss's nose in the picture above... hurhurhur...

I'm starting to appreciate Indian culture & society more, as I try to understand what makes this country the way she is today. It certainly helped that I was a history buff. Nevermind that people say India is a run-down country and underdeveloped, and that there's always a funny smell that lingers in the air. I, for one, certainly wouldn't mind at all. Throw me into the depths, I will show you I can make it! 5.5hrs of flight time will be worth every minute. In fact, I look forward every business trip to India with great relish and anticipation. Everytime I go, I learn something new - things that would enable me to become a more knowledgeable person, and eventually a more effective salesman.

If I have the time, I'll try to pick up a book on the great Indian diaspora... (yeah, right)

And Oh! I met the Taiwan politician Ma Ying Jeou on the way back from Delhi to Singapore. He was on the same overnight flight as me! Only difference is: he sit business class and I sit economy. But still, its not everyday that you get to sit on the same plane with someone famous! Hehe...

Cruel son of b!tches

Took the straits time along today during my routine daily morning dump. I flipped the pages and my eyes were fixed on the front page of the HOME section - which reported another of those motorcycle accidents. Not exactly the kind of news that would appeal to bikers or their loved ones. My baby just happened to read that, and it didn't exactly endeared her to the fact that her boyfriend is a motorcycle enthusiast. Well, she was against the idea of me riding from the beginning anyways.

Back to the report, it mentioned that it was just like any other hit and run accident, except that the perpetrators were a bunch of heartless and cruel muthafukkaas. Fucker #1 performed an illegal U-turn, knocked down the doting father of two. He did not stop, instead proceed to drop off a passenger first before being hunted down by a witness, and then he lan lan have to return to the scene. What da fuck man rite? Whats with the nonchalant attitude??!

That was not all loh, Fucker #2 came into the picture when the fucking expensive mercedes she was driving in run the poor fella over as the biker was trying to get up from the initial impact. She was on her way to fetch the husband from the airport. Yeah, she knew exactly what happened and I suppose it was waaayyy less important saving a life than making sure her husband doesn't have to wait one extra minute for her. Such fucking cheebyes these people can be. I really think their heart or conscience got eaten up by some rabid infected stray dogs or what. FYI, she only confessed after being summoned by the TP 8 fucking days later, from which her car no. was given by a witness who pursued her but didn't managed to get her to go down and help.

What has the world come to, with all these cheebye people driving around on our roads? Are we ever safe from them? And if we get knocked down, will we be rendered immediate assistance or run over like a worthless piece of rag? Such cruelty and heartlessness. Please burn them in hell for eternity for God's sake, we don't need these pieces of shit around us.

Road trip + Beach rendezvous!

Had a pretty eventful long weekend. I literally had to drag myself to work this morning. And to think that just yesterday, I was in paradise, waking up to the georgous beach view and the inviting morning sunshine which beckons me and my baby to take a stroll along the beach, before having breakfast at the rooftop terrace that overlooks the straits of malacca.

Here are some pics...

Left: Cascading waterfalls greet you once you step into the resort.

Right: Enjoying coffee... and the wonderful view in front of us...

And look at that, a staircase leading up to your very own private jacuzzi! Ultimate privacy man, and at your usage at anytime! WIKKID!!!

Left: Just a few steps and you're there!

Below: Voila! Jacuzzi!!! And a view to die for!

Of course good things don't come cheap. This garden roof suite costs a whopping S$490/night. But for off-peak, it's only S$300/night. Cool... But then again, for that sum of money, I'll rather go places like Bintan/Batam loh... Neh mind, that shall be my next target...

Also, some photos from saturday's road trip to Pulai waterfalls in JB, on a Saturday where my poor baby has to work and I have (no choice) but to go find my biking kakis! Hehe...

Just look at the insane no. of bikers joining for this trip! 15 bikes + 21 riders/pillions!!! Overall, it was pretty OK. Had a lil' mishap, hurt my ankle but should be fine. The food & ciggies were like dirt cheap and we ended off the day trip by having dinner at this seafood restaurant that overlooks the Singapore Sungei Buloh nature reserve site.

Me and my bikey! Trusty ol' CB400. Mileage less than 9,000km. In pristine running condition. View to believe!!! =P

Left: Cheap seafood makes us Singaporeans a very happy bunch of people indeed... *BURRRPPP*

Pity we arrived there late due to the sudden downpour at Pulai waterfalls, or else I could have captured some pictures of the place at sunset. It will be quite a sight to reckon with, me thinks.
