OASIS IN THE FLESH

Listening to OASIS live in a rock concert is very much different from hearing them on the CD player. My first rock concert at the Singapore Indoor stadium was quite an experience, albeit a short one. It was only like friggin' one and a half hours worth of songs from the band I used to listen to back in the 90s during secondary school.

I had dressed up like a 16yr old, and I certainly felt like one, especially with the exhilaration of going to my first concert ever. Trucker cap, black tee and my levi's engineered jeans. Hahaha, actually look more like a mud eh? I was expecting wild and crazy things to happen in a rock concert, things like wild screaming and body surfing - commonplace in concerts held in angmoh countries. It did happen here though, to the feverish crowd in the mosh pit right at the front. And when I attempted to bodysurf, apparently no one in the crowd was game enough. LOL. Nah, I was kidding. I think they would siam first when my body comes a-surfing their way. Hehehe.

Oasis weren't that enthusiastic that night. Perhaps the crowd wasn't really that worked up compared to those in angmoh countries. And I think they certainly weren't that fazed by the mediocre crowd turnout here as they are used to playing in front of tens of thousands back home. It also didn't help Liam was his usual arrogant bo-chup self. But it screams attitude lah, my teenage idol k? haha.

So it was a consolation that they played what were arguably their best songs: Wonderwall, Champagne supernova and Don't look back in anger, or else I would have felt pissed off, given the short duration of the concert. I repeat, crowd pleasers songs are a MUST, even though they have played the songs to death.

Have a nice weekend ahead.

I'm quarter of a century old!

Yesterday was limpeh's 25th birthday. Yes, its a milestone worth mentioning. The fat boy has finally turned quarter of a century old. Time indeed flies very fast neh. Looking back on the year past by, it was a watershed period in my life in some ways. Most notably is finally graduating from the school of hard knocks, and straight into the cauldron of the realities of life.

Anyways limpeh would like to thank the many people who have crossed my path. While I enjoyed good times with most people, a few left a sour aftertaste. Nonetheless, both played a part in enriching my experience on the journey of life. Respect.

To the peeps who remembered my birthday yesterday (you know who you are), asked me out and sent limpeh well wishes from sms-es to cards and presents, thanks a lot. I really appreciate that, even though I didn't show it openly cos limpeh is a MAN whose tears and emotions doesn't bounce easily (chinese translation). MUAHAHA... don't wanna list out names here in case people say I prejudiced or biased. Hehe... but if you wish your name to appear on my *ahem* popular blog, please do kindly drop a note and I will see to it that it will be done. =)

On another note, I finally transferred my beloved pwantom gina to this swimming coach by the name of Henry. Nice guy and all, was glad it didn't fell into the hands of anyone else. Hahaha. No more phantom at my carpark whenever I cast my eyes out of the window. But soon, a new bike will take its place. Hehehe... Oh goody goody... *rubs hands in glee*

Bol'dor! I adore!!!

So it has finally been decided. I've chosen the Honda Super 4 CB400 Bol'dor half-fairing bike because naked bikes just doesn't have that kinda look I want.

The service was friendly, the price was fantastic and everything was going good... until it happened. I originally wanted the retro red, white, blue and had inquired about it prior to going down. They said they will check for me and when I called them again to confirm the availability of that particular color scheme. They said yes, have stock. So I went down to the store, asked them for the final time that they confirm have stock before I put pen to paper. Yes, they said. I was elated to be finally able to get the bike I wanted.

The next day, I had a call from them. They told me now suddenly don't have the color scheme I wanted. I was like: "WTF?!" If don't have why promise me in the first place??! I could've considered buying from elsewhere or other models!! But that possibility was diminished because they said I could take back my deposit if I wanted to. I would want to believe it is a genuine mistake on their part, miscommunication most probably. But I will be sure to question them when I personally go down to collect my bike.

So yeah, I got the black one with gold rim in the end. They had the silver one, I didn't choose that cos' I thought it was damn ugly. Oh well, maybe I will grow to like it because black didn't appeal to me back then even though I have lotsa black T-shirts in my wardrode. Hehe. Different thing lah, this is bike what. I wear black T-shirts cos' got slimming effect on me what... bike doesn't. In fact, the bulkier the bike, the more chio and manly it is what. See the logic?

Should be taking delivery of my bike next week but then got KL business trip 21st - 23rd feb coming up. I will only be back in SG for the Oasis concert on 23rd evening, which then I will have to rush to the Singapore indoor stadium before it starts at 8pm.

Seasons in the wind

"Goodbye to you my trusted bike
We've known each other since September 2004
Together we've sped around corners and bends
Learnt of thrill and solitude
Skinned our work and skinned our troubles

Goodbye my bike it's hard to die
When I have passed my Class 2A
Now that SPEC III is beckoning me
Pretty bikes are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there

We had joy we had fun we had
seasons in the wind
But the corners that we've sped were
just seasons in the wind... ..."

Memories of my phantom TA150 will live on forever... Spirit of the Phoenix!!!

Happy CNY!!!

Same old boring chinese new year. Didn't even bothered to grab new clothes until the eve. Faced with the super turned off thought of jostling with people shopping, I was thinking: "Aiyah want new clothes right? at least one piece new can already loh... then I already bought new underwear what, can liao lah like that..."

Someone slap me please? Hahaha...

Anyway I still went ahead and bought a bright orange nike tee shirt which I figured would make my ah ma very happy. Hehehe. But horror of horrors, who would imagine such a way to start the new year - by getting a summon for parking on grass verge beside TM!!! OMG! I think it would set me back by $70 before I even collected the first ang pow for this year! Kaozzz... sian halfzzz... But nevermind, I already got the perfect excuse in mind since I decided to appeal against it. Hahaha, duNcH sHaReZz wIf eUu LeHhz!

I made quite a killing over gambling bouts with my cousins. Was forced to be the banker since I was earning my own money already. I didn't grumble of course, new year one time nia let everyone happy loh. But I keep getting 21s and ban luck leh, now they not happy all their money come into my pocket. How? not my fault I lucky what... hahaha.

Then my auntie say this year those born in year of rooster very lucky. It certainly seemed that way to me eh? Let's hope the lucky streak continues throughout the year...

Have a Happy Chinese new year you stalkers out there... hahaha...
