Muahahaha... Channel i's Durian King is damn funny man. Imagine Adrian Pang speaking Queen's english to the rest of the motley crew of cast whose shady stereotyped characters they play could be found hanging around in geylang... Then, the joker himself can be seen messing around with a nunchaku and he ends up bruising his arms instead, kinda like my idol 星哥's slapstick comedies... wahahaha... In the episode i've just seen, benjamin heng from the low profile local movie "Eating Air" takes 關二哥's 青龍刀 and swings it like a deranged idiot at traffic junctions near lavender and food courts at bugis village... HAHAHAHA... Kym Ng also add to the "kee-siao"ness of the whole show by singing offkey whenever she opened her mouth, complete with 2 equally chao ah lian-nish side kicks... Man, what more could you ask for in a comedy??! Go watch lah, guarantee laugh like siao... 包吃啦... pao jiak... bo ho jiak heng ler lui... hehehe... Yah, neber tell u all de time... every friday channel i at 9:30pm... must watch hor...

The most successful platoon outing ever... almost half the platoon turned up for a simple get together over dinner at suntec and after that chillin' out at starbucks millenia walk... We've had much to catch up on since the last time we saw one another, and our NS life at PLAB was vividly brought back to life when we shared the endless stories we've heard and experiences we've encountered there... yeah, it was nice to see these guys again... and i'm proud to have serve the country with them... salut!!! hehe...

                           BROTHERHOOD 兄弟

Taegukgi is a war movie which speaks of brotherhood in a light you would've never imagined... Of the blood that were spilled in the war holds valuable lessons in life we could learn from... the idea of brotherhood goes beyond what chao ah bengs profess to uphold when their brudders are kenna 'hood' by other street hoodlums... No, it does not involve chasing rival gangs with parang knives or machetes either... Brotherhood here is defined by the ultimate act of selflessness to ensure your brother lives to see the sun rise another day while more often than not, ending your life...

I'm not telling you guys to lay down your lives for your blood brother or 'brudders' this very minute but wouldn't it be better to give than to take in the little things we do everyday? I don't know about you guys, but nothing makes my day more than to see the people around me happy, even if it inconveniences me greatly... For that, i've always been an easy going guy who goes along with the majority, not that i don't have an opinion of my own, but i'd rather forsake my own interests to go with the rest... So, the next time your brother asks to use this computer of yours while you're busy playing gunbound... let him... unless of cause you have a sister like mine... don't need to ask any questions, slap her first then talk... hahaha... joking lah...

Anyway, i feel like giving more endorsement to the movie... i don't think i have done enough justice to its realistic protrayal of the Korean War fought between the same race of people backed by 2 very different ideologies. The movie explores brotherhood on various fronts… that of the blood brothers, the next of soldiers-in-arms on a battlefield, and lastly between that of your fellow countrymen… If there is anything that we already know, war only brings pain and grief to people. The Korean War is different from the World Wars because in the latter, it was justified in order to liberate the oppressed from the tyrants. But the Korean War was nothing of that sort… the conflict arise because of ideological differences between their OWN people… Imagine going to war with Malaysia where many of us still maintain regular ties with relatives over there, would you kill just because your country tells you to? This is the dilemma Koreans are facing even up till today… absurd ain’t it?

The movie’s final scene made me shed a tear or two… this brother grieving over the remains of his elder brother and chiding him for not fulfilling his promise to make it back home alive… my utmost respect to people like him… they died so that others may live… How many people can actually do that? I dare say I would gladly do it for the people close to me in my life… self sacrifice in times of war is not hard a decision for me to make, the only question is: What are you dying for?

Respect this!!!! Oh yeah, its true, ITS true... i've finally passed my TP... HAHAHA... don't blame me for going nutters... i'm so excited i could hardly sleep. The dream is soon becoming a reality... oh yes it is... Today's test could hardly count as smooth sailing... Imagine, while i was going on my warm up round, my bike stalls suddenly and i have to push the bloody bike back to the starting point. Then, my achilles heel was badly exposed yet again when i fell off the bloody plank... tell you, damn kan cheong... this time confirm die... i thought to myself... Then thats not all, i queue up to try again for the warm up round, then when i tried to steer my bike through the bloody plank again, i fell off one more time... "wah lan, this time who i offend..." i said to myself... bad enough for a start huh... all my confidence shattered man... But lucky lah, i managed to compose myself for the actual test... inside the circuit everything do swee swee, outside on the road ah, very zai... but still leh i still scared, dunno why also... scared all the little mistakes accumulate then scarly fail again... wah liew, unthinkable man... Then ah, as all the testees gathered inside the room to wait for results, the atmosphere damn tense as the testers come in and call the number tags of people who failed... suddenly, i hear "seventy... FIFTH" wah cau i tell you, my heart nearly dropped, close shave, cos my number tag was 76... sweeaatt like hell... even more stressed than getting my 'A' levels results... hahaha... Finally, the moment of relief came when the tester announced that the people remaining in the room all passed... Wahhh, machiam like euro 2004, score goal like that... i also muttered a silent "YES!" under my breath lah combined with a clenched fist, friggin' happy... my grin has not disappeared from my face yet... 6 hours already... and right now, i find it quite difficult to drink the kiam chye soup my mum's boiled for dinner...
